Candeece allocates more than enough time to be able to do an intense eye test. One that involves her listening to all your concerns around your eye and the activities your eyes undergo on a daily basis. She takes into account your previous experiences elsewhere and what you did not like about them, as well as what else your body has gone through that can affect your eyes. She checks your prescription numerous times to ensure that the end result is both accurate and precise. She then takes the time to explain what your treatment options are, and you both determine the best options for your eyes and budget.

No medical aid: R450
Medical aid rates that are charged for eye tests are claimed through medical aid.

Candeece is not afraid to try contact lenses on all patients that are good candidates. She will be honest with what is required for a successful contact lens journey as well as why it might not work for your specific prescription.

No one likes the idea of poking their eye, but with the full proof technique Candeece uses, 99% of her patients have left her contact lens room with the ability to put in, take out and care for their contact lenses.

We offer a large range of frames for all budgets, face shapes and preferences. With our assistance, we give you the best possible vision in both prescription glasses and sunglasses, for casual wear or sports. Including safety glasses. Our frames start from as little as R500.

From the age of 6 years old you have to test your childrens eyes, despite there being any symptoms of any visual issues. Candeece is a mother herself and therefore really likes being able to test your child’s eyes and determine the need for any correction or not. She does not like giving glasses to children unless it is absolutely necessary for their development. She has a huge passion in preventing myopic degeneration as she has it herself, and wished the amazing interventions were available for her as they are now.

We can issue you with a driver’s screening sheet for your driver’s test renewal. This service costs R50.
Please remember to bring along your ID or passport as well as your driving glasses (if needed).
The certificate is valid for 3 months and the driver’s station does not accept any copies only the original, so you need to come into the practice to get one.

We are more than happy to help with any minor frame adjustments or even replace a broken nose bridge.
Please note for this service we do so at your own risk as all adjustments or pre-used frames do hold a small amount of risk.
We do not charge for minor fixes or adjustments.

We like pretty things and for this reason, we have a wide range of nice frame cases and chains to pick from, to finish your optical look.

Frame choice is a massive part of your eyewear treatment. If you have got the correct prescription but the wrong frame, the entire job can be an absolute disaster. For this reason, Candeece is very actively involved in your frame choice and also offers her suggestions of what will best suit you, as she has been picking frames for her patients for over 13 years. This is a very important way of how our practice stands out from the rest, as the frame choice part can often be very overwhelming, but we have your back.

Candeece has got the basic machinery required to detect major ocular diseases and she is able to refer you to the best Ophthalmologist for that specific possible condition.

FAQs
How much is any eye test?

If you have medical aid, we claim directly from your medical aid and charge their tariff rate (each medical aid charges their own rate determined by their board, not us). If you are a patient with no medical aid and wish to pay cash/card, it costs R450. Pensioners and low income earners pay R250.

Do you claim from medical aid?

Yes we do, and we charge medical aid tariffs. We can also check your Optical benefits before you book your appointment with us (obligation free) to confirm what your medical aid will cover and explain what you will get for what they cover.

Do you offer payment terms?

You are welcome to pay your glasses off over 3 months, however you can only collect your glasses once the final payment is made.

Do you offer affordable options in eyewear?

Yes, we have catered for everyone at our practice with options for pensioners, lower income earners as well as budget packages. Please view these prices under our promotions section.

Do you sell soft contact lenses?

Yes, we can sell you contact lenses if you come and see us for an appointment or you supply us with an eye test you have done elsewhere in a period of 12 months or less. We will also price match any supplier of contact lenses within reason.

Do you test kids?

Yes, I adore testing kids and I do so for kids who are 6 years and older. If you have a need to test anyone younger than 6, I can refer you to a paediatric optometrist.

How long does it take to get my glasses?

This depends on the lens design, and it can vary from 2 days to 2 weeks. But we aim to surprise you with amazing turn around times.

Can I use my own frame?

Yes, absolutely. Candeece is very honest to assess the frame to see if it is a wise choice, and despite her decision if the frames break at any stage in the new lens fitting process, we cannot be held liable to replace them as they hold no warranty with us. That being said, we are incredibly careful and frames hardly ever break in our care.

Do you do driver's screenings to renew my driver's licenses?

Yes, we do this. The cost is R50 and the certificate is valid for 3 months. You need to book to do this, and bring along your driving glasses (if necessary) and ID book or passport.

Can I order a complete pair of glasses off your website?

Yes, and no. You can pick the frame off the website and then contact us via whatsapp or email with your prescription where we can discuss costing etc.

Do we offer repairs?

Yes, we can try and fix any pair of glasses within our capacity. We also replace nose pads on most frames at no charge to you.

Do you replace sunglasses lenses in my branded frame?

Yes, if your favourite sunglasses have been damaged, we can reorder the lenses if they are still available. You can contact us with the model and brand, then we can quote you for a replacement.

Do I have to book an appointment to come and see you or just arrive?

We work by appointment only, and will gladly fit you in as soon as we possibly can. You can whatsapp us or book online.

Do you remove cataracts?

No, we are not doctors. We can only identify when it is time to see an Ophthalmologist, and try to assist you in finding the right one for you.

I have an eye infection, can I come to you?

I cannot prescribe any form of prescription treatment for severe eye infections, so it is recommended you rather see your GP for this. However, if you are experiencing recurrent itch or burn in your eyes, I can recommend treatment options once you have had a consultation with me.
